Hi
I want to make one AC/DC power supply with this specification.

vout=50volt to 120 volt
Iout(max)=2 A

I want to use one 220-->120v transformer.
how can I do this?

pelase help me

Hi, what is your input supply to the transformer, cos you mention 220-120(volts).

You can consider linear regulator based on a power MOSFET, mounted on a reasonable heatsink, and set limits with resistors installed on top and bottom the main potentiometer .. see attached picture ..
To provide basic regulation you can add a 150V Zener diode (can consist of 3 x 47V, or 5 x 33V) and feed potentiometer of it ..

Hi
My input is 220v Ac.
I want use one transformer with 120v(AC) output if I take one good dc power.

Hi IanP :) nice to meet u
Can I use it with 2A at output?
I want to use it with one universal ac motor.
it has 22000 rpm. I want to fix it at 4000 rpm. so I can use one dimmer too. can you give me one dimmer circuit for this ac motor? I think it take lower price and spcae.

Added after 5 minutes:

I use this dimmer for my motor and it works but after 3 minute the output voltage increase automatically!!

All depends on the power MOSFET current rating ..
And to icrease the output current, you can always connect some MOSFETs in parallel ..

I can't see this circuit, can you provide a link or upload it again?

I simulate your circuit with proteus and it work. but when I put 100 ohm resistor at output ,so it goes down to 0 volt and didnt change.
what can I do?

is there anybody to help me?

What is the value of R2?
Keep in mind that circuit build around Q2 - R2 limits the output current, and any load current that produces more than 0.7V across R2 will "turn off" the MOSFET ..

thanks you IanP
its work. I adjust it for 60v to 130v. I draw its pcb and I will test it. I hope it works.

Keep in mind that you must consider a decent heatsink for the MOSFET ..

Hello sir tictac,
can you upload your finished schematic for this power supply?
or you can email it to me dyep_castro@yahoo.com

because i am also building a similar power supply.
and your circuit can really help me.
thanks in advance! :D
im hoping for your kind consideration

sir, can you let us see your power supply design schematic? it will be a great help for my thesis..
i am similar to the previous guy..
it will really be nice if we will be able to see your design.
thank you
