5*7 led dot matrix display

I want to display any text scrolling through the block of 6 (5*7) led dot matrix. I av in mind to use 8051, 74LS138 decoder, 7 array transistor ic and leds. Now i am confused about whether i will av to use seperate 8051,decoder &7array trnsistor for each block:???: Plz help me...
