Hi,

Take a look at this great A/D

https://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/ads1256.html

1.Is it really has 24 bit resolution even with this high speed sampling rate 30ksps (is it true that effective resolution 23 bit at any speed "noise free!!")?

2. What do you say is it the same to amplify a signal (i.e., EEG brain signal at 200 sample/sec) 65535 times then feeding it into 8bit A/D is it the same to amplify the signal only X1 then feed it in a 24 bit A/D so that you will get a 8bit with a 16 bit extra resolution which serves to show the signal on the screen 65535 times larger instead of the 65535 analog amplification (u can say we amplified it by software only x65535 times).

If this has the same outcome on the signal our life has been much better to overcome all the headache of designing analog filters and amplifiers and substituting that by software amplification and software filtering which is much easier?

3.I am shocked, Anyone knows A/D converter that has noise free resolution at few Kbits/sec more than this A/D?

Thanx
