the result of connection two batteries the same batteries with different voltages for example 1V with 2V will be discharging the second one throught the 1V battery. It will be something like short circuit.
If batteries are made with different material, not necessary. All depends of resistance. Zinc and carbon batteries has high resistance, NiCd - very low. As you know from the lessons current will flow like : voltage of second battery – voltage of first / ( resistance second battery+ resistance second battery). If we forgot about resistance: current will flow from 2V to 1 V so output voltage will be 1 V.
To sum up: both get hot. Both will be waste. And if batteries are low resistance, this experiment could be danger. It’s because higher voltages will be discharged by lower in almost instant time, causing a lot of heat, maybe even exploding. If resistance of both is big discharging to the same level for both will take a lot of time.
