1248 PFC chip has average current mode to stop subharmonic oscillation?

Hello,

The LT1248 PFC IC features average current mode control.

Is this there so as to ensure that subharmonic oscillation doesn't occur at the low parts of the input line voltage?

It's mainly to achieve lower distortion and higher PF, since the relationship between peak and average current is nonlinear.
