need your experience

I ''m trying to use FPGA to run real-time 8051.
But my HDL code is not fully compliant with Intel 8501.
do you have 8051 HDL code that is fully compliant with intel 8051

Re: FPGA based 8051

There is no point in implementing fully compatible 8051 in FPGA.
It is possble to do better 8051 than the original one in FPGA.
The mc8051 free IP-core by oregano is just as the original 8051 microcontroller
www.oregano.at
And people have implemented it on FPGA!

Re: FPGA based 8051

nand-gates,
unfortunately I must correct you in one point. Oregano core v.1.4 is not cycle compatible to the original industry standard 12 cycles core.
It runs about 6 times faster.
I implemented it and checked it myself on the Spartan3 FPGA.
Fortunately this is the only thing which seems to be incompatible.
Regards, yego
