Hi.

I am a newbie in USB projects.

I have an USB barcode reader device and need to connect it to a PIC uC (16F or 18F only).

My questions are:
-Can FT232RL be used for that purpose?
-If it can, how can I implement it on a PIC 16F or 18F?

What I need is PIC recognizing the barcode. I was not able to do that.

In short:
I'm using FT232RL to interface USB and UART and also to serve as a host. But I'm not sure that this IC can do the job. And if it can, What I have to do to implement it?
The purpose of FT232RL is not just converting USB to UART but being a host too. That's my expectation.
I'm using MikroC Pro PIC compiler.

I found that I need a USB host to do that. But I very confused because I got no example doing that, specially with FT232RL and a PIC uC.

May someboby help me, giving me some directions or maybe an example?

FT232RL Breakout board I'm using: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/FT232RL-Serial-adapter-Module-USB-to-TTL-3-3V-5V-Mini-USB-TTL-for-Arduino-M20/301724427486?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20161027085944%26meid%3D1edbf4cef3a649e7a2cfd8ce65c1408c%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D282746018171&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

Thank you.
