asynchronous state machine design

Hello,
I want to learn Finite State Machine design, both synchronous and asynchronous.

Which book should I start with. I want to learn from beginning.

Thanks

asynchronous state machine

Hi,

Get some good book about digital design or logic syntheses. Look for Moore and Mealy tip of state machine.

start syncronous asyncronous vhdl

i am not sure abt the title of the book
may be itz Digital logic Design by Charles Roth.
The author name is confirmed.

vhdl nawabi

State machine desin can be learned through any digital design book. However I have seen that many are not that comprehensive and do not give info on glitchy outputs etc.
You can refer to clifforn cummings papers for a better iread to FSM design.

hi
the good book for coding of VHDL-nawabi where he gave codes with example for FSMS.

as far as synthesis is concerned M.J.SMITH ASIC book is useful.he discussed FSM synthesis as seperate topic.

i hope this will help u.
