I am a new cadnece user.And i meet a problem after install.
In the Schematic Editing Mode, there are only five icons(save, zoom in,zoom out, propert, repeat) in the tools bar(left side).I know there should be other icons.
I don't know what's the problem,license,setup,or other reason?
my OP:redhat linux7.0 IC version:IC5.0.0.500.28
Anyone can help me this problem?

Thanks

vpwlf waveform type must be specified error

Edit mode is prohibited.
It is license problem.
If you don't have license you can only read schematic and layout.

waveform type must be specified

So,you mean my license setup is wrong,is it right?
Thanks very much.

Thank you.I have solve the license problem.
But i meet another problem:
When i use simulation by spectre, there's an error.
Error found by spectre during hierarchy flattening
V1:Waveform type must be specified if any waveform parameters are given.
It's seem as the Independence source, just like(Vsin,Vpluse and so on)

can you give me some suggest?

How did you run spectre? Did you run spectre in a terminal window, or run from Analog Design Environment?
If you edit the spectre netlist by a text editor and run spectre in a terminal window, maybe you forgot to add a type= parameter to the vsource V1.

I run spectre for Analog Design Environment.
And if I replace the Vpluse with Vdc, there're any errors.
So i think the problem is caused by Independence source.

cadence question

If you use the vpulse cell from analogLib library shipped with Cadence (not modified) and get these errors, maybe it is a bug.

Thank you very much.
And I have 2 questions:
1.If it's a bug, how to resolve it?Are there other library to supply Voltage and Current source? Or, we must build a source by ourself?
2.When I use Cadence in university lab(don't know its version), I havn't meet this problem before. So is it sure a bug?I doubt.

run spectre from terminal

I am not sure. Maybe you can edit the netlist by a text editor after creating netlist, then choose "simulate" (not "netlist and simulate") in the ADE. Another way is to use text stimulus file.

So you mean don't use Candence to make the netlist?

cadence sources vsin

Most likely the problem is that CDS_Netlisting_Mode is not set
to Analog. To resolve the problem, exit the tool and set the environment
variable either in the xterm you are using by typing:

setenv CDS_Netlisting_Mode "Analog"

or (preferably) enter this command in your .cshrc file and source it.

If this is not set, you need to restart icfb or icms after you source
your file. Also, you should Netlist->Recreate in Artist.

hierarchy flattening error cadence schematic

I think License problem or cdslck file is generated.
first you comfirm whether your licence is setting right or not.

cadence vsin not working

Dear friend:
Maybe my suggestion can solve your problem:you should copy the voltage source to your projects lib ,then use the source from your lib ,not from the "analoglib". You can have a try.welcome to communicate with me .My

Re: cadence question

your "CDS_Netlisting_Mode" is unset or there is a wrong set

you may see it in your .bashrc
