Currently hottest place is LDPC decoder and encoder you can do some thing rearding that in matlab and if you know vhdl or verilog u can implement it and its great project if you finish it,

For the speech codec G729, it is fixed at rate 8Kbits/s. If you could modify the software to be variable at different rates (e.g., 4800, 2400,...), that would be very good graduation subject.

im doin with my engineering project. pretty tough and big one. im struck in one place - i ll hav 3 lights may be infrared. now these lights shud b tracked by a sensor or receiver. and the motion of the light shud also be noticed by the sensor. truea bit tough. even my teacher cud not help me. can anyone please help me.
