Functionl Generator 600 MHz
Hello,
My task is to create a Function generator upto 600 MHz frequency.
Can anybody give me idea how to construct it or a block diagram or links?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
Please some more snippets of specification. Waveform, rise-/falltime, pulse width, magnitude, just to mention a few parameters.

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
Nothing is given except frequency.
Can you suggest me general block diagram for it?Last edited by poojadholam; 19th November 2019 at 14:53.

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
Function generator, like a sine, wave, triangle wave generator?
At 600 Mhz, you either have pure sine waves or a trapezoidal waveform.
Because of the large amount of harmonics present in a square wave, it is simply not feasible to generate a square wave. Specially if you are pretending a 5 volt swing.
Please Google LVDS, such that you the constraints you'll be facing..My batteries are recharged by "Helpful Post" ratings.

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
You also need to think about what the lower end of the frequency range is.
There are a lot of circuits out there for "600MHz vco" (the google search I did) but many only have a limited range (say 300MHz to 600MHz)

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
The AWG presented in the link below, perhaps is the only device on the market that goes up to 600MHz. Usually the AWG generators sold by the big manufacturers goes only up to 120MHz.
In the link is presented the block diagram of the device:

Re: Functionl Generator 600 MHz
You may take a look how to utilize SDR as a signal generator - see the following as an example - https://www.rtl-sdr.com/tag/signal-generator/
