I read that Earth can act as a return path for the current and hence to complete the circuit. This seems to be so ridiculous. Does that mean if a current say 10 A is flowing in a wire and if end in the ground then the same current will flow through the other end of the circuit ? and this current comes from the ground at the other end?

Thanks in advance.
