freds!
i need help about motor control-three phase ac induction motor via PIC18f chips. please provide some ideas. The chip need V DC.How do i get 5Vdc from 3 phase ac input. Provide some documents. How do sense the voltage of 440v. because some time i want to sense whether the incoming voltage and current is correctly given to motor...... i need all details. i am fresh to motor control. how to make three phase induction motor control for industrial application... how do i drive the three phase by using PWM... somebody say inverter needed.... please provide full details.

for controlling any ac motor you need an SCR arrangement in anti parallel , for 3-phase you will need 3 sets of it then you can control the motor using an moc which is connected to the controller , moc is optical device it is used to trigger SCR, the duty cycle ac voltage can be controlled by switching on the moc and triggering the scr, hence speed can be controlled , you can vary the time using timer interrupt.
