I made a project which will filter out unwanted frequencies. I applied FFT to the signal and multiplied with window function in frequency domain. and do the IFFT. it should reconstruct the original signal with applied windowing. however, the output has been reconstructed, but i always can hear the ticks sound, like 10 more ticks per sec. my FFT length is 1024 point. Also, I notice as my FFT length increases, the ticks reduce.
I tried many ways to eliminate the ticks. I need some helps for this headache.

Thanks in advance. would be a grateful someone guides me

Are you using a brickwall filter? If so, it is a sync in time domain and it adds some very audible ripple... i.e. your ticks...
