Well, if you need to use an RTOS for your application, I would sugest you Hitec PICC18. If not, or if you are short on time, go with no doubt for CCS.

On larger projects i ran to many bugs with HI-TECH,
and turned back to MCC-18, it's buggy too, but while
I spent long nights debugging HT's code in MCC it's
easier to workaround the bugs.
And it wasn't a big deal to turn the sources to MCC.
