Hi...I am a new user of EDA tools.I am trying to install SoC 6.2(the update release) on Ubuntu 8.04..

The install finishes correctly..
I added this line in the cshrc file:
set path = (/Cadence/SoC/tools/bin $path)
the file contains two more lines for the license:
setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE etc etc
setenv CDS_LIC_FILE etc etc

and i also added these lines in the .profile:
PATH=/Cadence/SoC/tools/bin:$PATH
export PATH

when i go to /Cadence/SoC/tools/fe/bin/32bit and type ./encounter i get this message:
./encounter: error while loading shared libraries: libTktable2.9.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

i looked at the Synaptic Package Manager and the libTktable2.9 is installed...

Do you have any ideas? Is it necessary to have anything else installed?

Thanks in advance

i managed to solve this problem but now i get this when i type ./encounter:

**ERROR: Cannot open (for write) log file: "encounter.log".
Reason for error: Permission denied.
This version requires license using cdslmd daemon.
Checking out Encounter license ...
SOC_Encounter_GXL 6.2 license checkout succeeded.
*** ERROR: The environment seems to be set improperly: make sure you launched the tools using the
wrapper under the directory: <install_root>/bin

how can i solve this?

You should not invoke the encounter binary directly. As the error message said, invoke encounter wrapper from /Cadence/SoC/tools/bin dir.
