error occured while downloading the code?

Hi all, the folowing error occured while i was downloading my bit file via jtag cable on fpga.

iMPACT:583 - '1': The idcode read from the device does not match the idcode in the bsdl File.
INFO:iMPACT:1578 - '1': Device IDCODE : 00001111111111111111111111111111
INFO:iMPACT:1579 - '1': Expected IDCODE: 00000001010000010100000010010011


How do iremove this error.

I see a similar message on the Xilinx discussion forum:

Do you also see a message that says "Cable is not connected"?

On the iMPACT menu bar, try clicking "Debug" and then "Chain Integrity Test".

If that doesn't help you, what type of board/device are you trying to configure?
What type of programming cable are you using?
Does the JTAG chain diagram displayed by iMPACT match the actual JTAG chain on your board?
