Hi

Could any body please tell me ...Is there any chance of getting both setup and hold viloation for the same register(for the same path)? If so what could be the solution?

Thanks in advance.

if the input of the ff is a asynchronism signal, it is possible.
for synchronous signal, the same path, I don't think so,
but the input of the ff may come from several different source, for example the input d=a and b,
for a path, setup error
b path, hold error
which is possible, you can fix the two different path separatly

to the same ff, yes.. both setup and hold violations can occur because they are coming form different paths... (a slow path and a fast path).

setup and hold violations on the same path (exactly the same path)... i don't think there can be... i just don't see this happening.

I agree with them.
I think this only occur in a small part of the path.
So, you can fix this separately.
