in RF attenuator we cheked for continuity between center and outer conductor using a multimeter.. surprisingly it is showing short between them... why is it so?... can u pls explain....

Re: Why in RF attenuator center cond'ctor nd outer cond in s

In case your attenuator is not burned you have selected wrong measuring range. Resistances of open ended attenuator should be as follows:
3dB 150Ω
6dB 83Ω
10dB 61Ω
20dB 51Ω
30dB 50Ω

ya as you told the values are exactly matching.... but only thing it is showing (beeps) for short... why is it so?....

across the ports 60ohms and end to end 50ohms...

Try to read multimeter manual first and you will find why it beeps. Do you know what is continuity tester?
