Hi all,

I am new in IC layout designing. I am facing issues in placement of components in layout. I generally got confused whether with this. I know this thing can be learned with experience.
But please suggest me some ideas from your experience regarding this matter. How should mind frame should be made in starting of design and how schematic can be helpful in placing and routing. ( other than connectivity, means connectivity must be according to schematic)

Thanks for help in advance.

If you are new to this I recommned not to fire up layout right away - use pencil and paper to define your placement.
On paper you can place blocks and see how those interact.

Similar it is on transostor level. You know which are the sensitive ones and so on.

Yes, I agree with Teddy, in the first stage, it is best to start drawing in the paper. This will help you clearly understand the structure of the device (MOS, Bipolar, BiCMOS). Then you can just use some simple tools that will help you automatically convert your schematic design to physical layout. Of course, this type of software is not serious for the layout design, but could helps you to understand where and how many contacts you need to put, or solve delays issuers in metal bus if you working with RF design and so on.
