1/4 frequency dividing

Hi Guys,

Is there a smaller circuit(with fewer transistors) for 1/4 frequency dividing than two cascoding D-flipflop?

Thanks.

Re: 1/4 frequency dividing

A std (master-slave) DFF needs about 30 transistors. May be these papers may help:

Re: 1/4 frequency dividing

Any better idea?

Thanks.

Re: 1/4 frequency dividing

I read a paper (sorry i forgot its title) in which the authors used a filter to ensure the frequency division in the feedback part of a PLL.

1/4 frequency dividing

A digital circuit with minimized die size is expected. The main target is to minimize the die size for 1/N frequency dividing, where N is very big.

it is sure ,u can use dff such tspc

1/4 frequency dividing

how about realizing it using a multiplexer. A mod n counter acts as divide by n circuit. We can design a counter using a multiplexer.
