Hi members,
Some elctrical machines are linked to the earth in order to evacuate the electrical charges.
Can someone tell me why electrons goes to earth ?

A simple question

As you know electron should go where there is the lower potential (ddp).
It's an energetic balance question

Obviously.
The question is Why.
In another word why the Earth has a low potential ?
Is it the lowest on the Earth ?

We are creating potential difference reference to earth. generators, creating first.(reference to earth) thunderbolts, static discharges etc.(reference to earth)

Maybe earth has higher potential as to mars(i dont know) but the potential difference(we talked about) is valid reference to earth. Maybe we have to talk about a battery with no connection to the earth. ll there be a current between + and earth?? lets think about it.
