Although the source follwer does not generate voltage gain,it does have the ability to fenerate current gain.Is it right?Why?
Thanks

Re: source-follower has the ability to generate current gain

we have voltage gain approximately equal to unity.
and Rinput = high while Rout=comparitively low.

now using ohm's law:-
Iinput=v/Rinput < Ioutput=v/Routput.

so this way we get current amplification.

Hope this helps.

the gain of the source follwer is usually 1.
it is mostly used as buffer, if you want...

Oh, I am reading Ken Martin's book,jut feel confused when read this sentense about source follower.Thank you for your attention.

Re: source-follower has the ability to generate current gain

it has a current gain because the input current is very low in source follower but only the input voltage controls the output current....
