What does datapath refer to?

Datapath

A digital module normally can be designed in a format that composed of datapath part and controlpath part. Controlpath is mainly handle the control signal and state machine and Datapath is maiinly employed for data operations.

Re: Datapath

There are majorly 2 kinds of paths 1. clock path and the data path ... The Clock path is the path that the clock traverses before reaching your target point , Data path is the path taken by the Data to reach your end point ( typically a flipflop). Hope this clears ur doubts

Re: Datapath

A digital system can be partitioned into two types of modules:
-Datapath
-Control unit

Datapath - performs data-processing operations
- consists of processing logic and registers.

Control unit - determines the sequence of data-processing
operations.

Re: Datapath

for example, in a CPU,
