I am using Cadence Virtuoso
I understood cds.lib keyword for UNDEFINE/SOFTINCLUDE/SOFTDEFINE/INCLUDE
But I don't understand the use and behaviour of "UNASSIGN"

e.g I created simple cds.lib, where I define Library "example" then I Undefine it but I don't understand how to see changes for "UNASSIGN" here ...maybe I am doing something wrong

DEFINE example ./example
ASSIGN example libMode shared
UNDEFINE example
UNASSIGN example libMode

I am not sure if you are looking for solution now.
ASSIGN is used to combine multiple libraries into one group and show in Library Manager as a single unit which can be expanded to drill down further. Once you use UNASSIGN, basically you are disabling the expanding option in library manager.

ASSIGN is used to assign one of the attributes (COMBINE, DISPLAY, TMP) to library (with one extra attributes for all libs), while UNASSIGN is used to remove specified, previously assigned attribute.

More info you can find in "Cadence library path editor user guide".
