Hi All

What liquid solder solution can I purchase that is able to conduct. I know there are various on the market but apparently some do not conduct.

Your helpwould be appreciated.

Many thanks

silver solder that evaporates or is epoxy with >99% silver content is $$$ but can be painted on. Hobby shops have nail brush applicator for simple fixes. but 30AWG magnet wire or WW wire is trade solution for jumpers.

What is it for?

If you are intending to use it on PCB or such surface, Silver conductive pens are available with Hakko (Sumitron exports) which will help you re-construct broken tracks.
Cheers

Many Thanks for your reply. I wanted to drill holes through the board and solder pins on the non track side of the pcb entered through the holes and with pads fitted on the non side. I was hoping to flow the solder (after fitting a membrane) through the holes to obtain conductive continuity from the track side to the non track side-if that makes sense.

Cleary unorthodox I know and I am already considering other options.

Thank you for your reply, I am considering a different approach but take on board the silver option.

I don't believe soldering to conductive paints/epoxies will be effective. However, there is a recently published modification of the Tollens' reaction that deposits pure silver (no matrix) on non-conductive surfaces. In fact, after curing, the resistance of the films approached pure silver. No mention is made in the abstract about solderability, but I suspect one could solder to it.

Here is a link to the abstract, which contains all of the experimental information you need: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ja209267c

If I were you, I would put in square post header strip .1" center and glue into board and solder on bottom side with 30AWG wire. Loctite instant adhesive or 5 minute epoxy with a couple dots on top should do, so as to bond the base to the plastic board, not the pins. YOu use crimp socket plugs that connect to header for interfacing. with heatshrink or in a plastic core.
Just a thought...
