    Design of wideband frequency synthesizer

How to design a moderate performance wideband frequency synthesizer from 4.2 gHz to 7.5 Ghz. At least approach would go a long way in helping me!

    About transmission line transformers

AWG depends on impedances you want to match (two wire line with the characteristic impedance you are looking for depends on AWG of individual wires)

what types of antennas work at freq. as high as 100GHz?

dielectric waveguide horns and lenses are very commonly used in that frequency ranges.

Short Dipole HFSS 1 port or 2 ports

short dipole Electrically small antennas give high capacitive reactances with small resistive parts.Though you can tune out the reactances by inductors and capacitors, etc., the small resistive part cannot be compensated and may require a transformer in the matching network.hope this helps.

    LC Filters and connectors

RF SMA or N connectors can be used at either end to connect it. As such you can not dierctly mount it on a pcb

    help!hilbert fractal antenna!

depends on feed point.there are papers by V.Varadan, K.J.Vinoy and K.A.Jose that give you a fair idea.low freq. VNAs do exist(r&s)

Can anybody tell me something about FEKO? Thanks

Feko works on PTD+UTD+MoM+MLFMM.HFSS works on FEM.Use of diffraction techniques makes it possible in feko to use it for big structures.
