Is it possible to learn hardware programming with raspberry or arduino

I want to learn hardware programming. How good of a choice would an arduino or raspberry be in learning hardware programming?.

Power supply and time (6V battery, 4V device)

I have this electronic component with the following power supply specification Power supply Single supply voltage 3.6V – 4.6V,Normal 4.0V If i have a battery that can supply 6v,for how long can the 6v battery be able to comfortably power the device?. Is there a formula to calculate the that?.

[moved] Smallest GSM signal receiver, possibly on a chip

Hello,i need to maintain gsm signal for the longest time possible, possibly two years straight or so. To do that i am looking for a chip that can fit a gsm sim card or micro sim and it should be callable when i call the number, but of course no one will answer since its a sim card on a chip. I...

Available mechanism to close and open a door

My box is 16 cm by 16 cm and its made of acrylic glass. There is a space of 7cm around the box.I have access to battery power. I cannot answer all your questions, its a small project.

Available mechanism to close and open a door

 I admit i have not given enough details. The answer on using a motor easily solves my problem but each motor goes for $22 and i need 125 of them! I thought of using a linear actuator but that too is expensive. Electric hinges too are not cheap,so i reall have to think of something on a...

Available mechanism to close and open a door

Thanks for the response. In the event that i have many boxes that would mean many motors and hinges. Is there another simpler solution that would work by applying a small current to say a joint and the joint opens and a different current is applied and the opening closes?.

Available mechanism to close and open a door

I have a box which i want to open at the bottom. My box looks like this My first choice was use of electromagnets but the power used would be too much. What other mechanisms i can use to close and open a the bottom part of my box?.

    Changing polarity on demand

I have two pieces of metal which I am using as some form of gate. When I want to open the gate, the two metals should have like poles so as to repel and hence open the gate. When I want to close the gate the two metals should have unlike poles. How can I make any metal have only a polarity of...

    DIY Communication Circuits

I am collecting various components for my DIY project in electronics and i wanted to know how i can get the following circuits. 1. Bluetooth receiver 2. Bluetooth transmiter 3. GSM circuit with sim card (i will use this to sen, receive texts and also to make and receive calls) 4. GPRS receiver...

    Modular Design In Electronics

Hello all. I have an arduino board with http://www.atmel.com/devices/atmega328p.aspx I wanted to run java fx because of its nice user interface features but java fx requires at least 16mb of memory alone. To go around that problem,i have a solution in mind but i need advice if this can work...

Of what use can an analog logic gate be to a circuit that contains a micro-controller

But this is rare, dont you agree?. There is almost no need to have logic gates if you have a micro-controller i hypothesize,is this correct?.

Of what use can an analog logic gate be to a circuit that contains a micro-controller

I am wondering if a logic gate would be of use to a circuit that contains a micro-controller.Are there cases when an analog logic gate is proffered over a micro-controller and what are some of the gadgets that use analog logic gates in the age of micro-processors and controllers.
