    Transmission Line Transformer Balun

Hi albbg, Thanks for the reply. >> I'm good with that. Where did the drops V52 and V21 go? ... oops, I now see. "Both" V1 and V5 is grounded.

Scratch request. I need to keep reading.

    Transmission Line Transformer Balun

    1) Could someone suggest a reference to more detailed explain a balun? I'm reading through Jerry Sevick's book Transmission Line Transformers. On page 1-4, he says "By connecting a ground to terminal 5, a negative potential gradient -(V1-V2/2) is established from terminal 3 to 4 and -V2/2...

[SOLVED] Finger Tuning on Reactive Load

Finger across the capacitor is parallel resistance or larger series capacitor or shunt capacitor. Am I seeing 13MHz? Dick_Freebird is absolutely correct. A finger is a very rough estimate on the bench of where the circuit wants something. I use it often on lower power/low voltage circuits...

Reference for microstrip trace width being equation for amplifier matching

I seem to remember a book that discussed nonlinear microstrip transmission line for wideband amplifier matching but I can not remember the title. Basically it discussed the microstrip trace width as an equation.

AWR Load Pull other than 50 ohms

Newbie question to AWR Load pull Template. When doing a load pull on a GaN Fet, "other than 50 ohms", do I change my system impedance in the HBTUNER3, the port or in their equation for Z0 = complex (50,0)?

Steps to Load pull, Stabilize and Match a power amplifier

I suspect CREE is running -2.85v for Class AB to Class B. I'm running Class A to Class AB, closer to Class A. My IV curves is at the beginning of this email. If I run a line from 40V to 3A, it would be roughly -2.2v to -2.3v. I'll play around with Gate bias. Maybe I can get the simulation...

Steps to Load pull, Stabilize and Match a power amplifier

With Tuners set to zero, Frequency: 0.05, 0.5, 1 GHz. the attached has Tuners set to Fine, which is a bit excessive. I save Load Pulls to separate data files LP_Data & SP_Data. Project files attached. If you want to run, you will need to replace/reload CREE Process Library and replace CREE...

Steps to Load pull, Stabilize and Match a power amplifier

The reason I put in a resistor on the gate is because the simulator gives an HB error without it. Looking at stability circles shows the points not converging to be outside the smith card. The Load Pull simulation is affected by stability issues. HB does not converge to an answer. 1675605319...

Please explain how I manually remove resistor.

Steps to Load pull, Stabilize and Match a power amplifier

Appreciate the reply BigBoss, >> Remove stabilization resistor and re-do Load Pull simulation and find the LPs values. When I remove the stabilization resistor, I get error messages of I'm unsure how to "Then remove manually 5 Ohm (not normalized) from the real part ...". I understand 5 ohms...

Steps to Load pull, Stabilize and Match a power amplifier

I did an IV curve… -2.2V gate voltage looks about Class A. In AWR, I then run a Load Pull and Source Pull to find the impedances I need to match to. I then would run Network Synthsis that pulls from the LP Tuners to derive a matching network. Without out the 5 ohm stabilization...

What are these structures in RF Amplifier

You are looking at a multi-tap printed resistor. The "blackish stuff" is the resist. the fatter ones are higher value resistors. The bond wires are to jumper over resistor values not desired. We use those as variable resistors.

    Coplanar Waveguide for sale anywhere

I hope this is the correct location about sources of materials... I'm looking for someone selling Grounded Coplanar waveguide. Push comes to shove, I can order but a panel of transmission line cost slightly more than a few inches. I would think there would be a site out there for us doing...
