Ok the reverse voltage for the normal diode is in the range of 100v. One more doubt is when the diode breaks it is generally said lot of current flows, why is this unwanted situation? Because we are always trying to produce current. please help.
Generally in the reverse direction region both normal diode and zener diode exhibit similar characteristics though not exactly same, then only why zener is used as voltage regulator.
Suppose my circuit require -12v. If I have a 12v supply, is it ok that I connect the negative of the supply to the circuit? basically what is the difference between actually connecting the negative source and connecting the positive supply but interchanging the terminals.

Two things
a. Collector is floating does it mean physically disconnected?
b. if it is floating then where is the reference voltage and how it can be supply voltage if there is no reference?
Suppose if i take an npn transistor and apply some voltage at the base the transistor will be ON and the emitter is grounded and the output at the collector is 0V. Similarly if i make the base cutoff the emitter is open circuited and the current is 0, the collector output is supply voltage. Now...
I have this doubt generally we transmit signals such as mobile signals from one place to other. We see mobiles or devices running on battery getting drained. Why can't we transmit the power signal. Fundamentally I want to know what is the difference between a signal and power signal. Please help.
My idea is microcontrollers are used for generating control signals. so based on how many control signals required you can choose any 8 bit or 16 bit microcontroller.
