    MSP430G2553 I2C Problems

Sorry, I haven't been on here in a while. I never got mine working. Switched over to SPI which is dramatically easier to program and work with. Hope you figure it out!! - - - Updated - - - Sorry, I haven't been on here in a while. I never got mine working. Switched over to SPI which is...

    MSP430G2553 I2C Problems

Hey, I cannot get my I2C code working for the MSP430G2553. I know there is no problem with the JTAG programming as I can make an LED flash. I am trying to communicate with a sensor which doesn't matter as I am unable to see the I2C clock. I have also tried using Spy-Bi-Wire. I cannot see the...

    Microwave Energy Harvesting Voltage Regulation

Brad, Thanks for the response. I imagine it is something as shown here. http://www.reuk.co.uk/Zener-Diode-Voltage-Regulator.htm Do you know if this is dramatically more efficient than a voltage reg? I am looking for a low cost and low power solution so this would probably work. Thanks again.

MSP 430 Launchpad is not working?????

The other 430 on the board could be fried. The MSP430Fx16(or something like that) programs the chip in the socket. Also, here is a schematic to help. I would first check to see if you see the JTAG signals before replacing the programming 430. Hope this helps...

MSP 430 Launchpad is not working?????

Do you have an extra 430 chip? Try to swap it out. If that doesnt work, there is probably a hardware problem on the JTAG interface they have on board.

    Microwave Energy Harvesting Voltage Regulation

I am trying to develop a super low power, batteryless device that needs to power a microcontroller. The power comes from 2.4 GHz wireless signal that is received by an antenna and inputted into a Dickson charge pump to produce the DC voltage needed to power the microcontroller. This voltage is...

MSP 430 Launchpad is not working?????

Are the settings correct in CCS? Also, make sure the drivers are all installed. Try to install IAR is CCS is not working to see if it is a CCS problem.

    I2c in msp430fg4618 experimenter's board.

I have similar issues with the MSP430G2553 and have not solved it. Make sure you are measuring the right pin for the clock. 8 Hz signal sounds like a data line measurement. Also, try using an external clock on ACLK and see if a clock signal is seen on the I2C.

antenna ( VSWR Vs. Gain )

You should keep your VSWR under 2, if possible. Also, ensure that the resonance (lowest S11 or reflection coefficient) occurs at the frequency you are looking to operate at. Changing the length of the antennas, normally, change resonance location. Changing the width and the feed impedance...

How do you solve the RF link issue between PCBs?

Re: RF line between PCB? If possible, you can put on a SMA connector on each board and connect with a long SMA cable. You will have some losses though.

    Designing RF inductors

You can use an online calculator to find the number of turns given the core and its size. Make sure you pick a core that works for your frequency range. https://www.66pacific.com/calculators/toroid_calc.aspx
