Why ICs are in a square shape ?

1. why ICs(die) fabricated are in square shape??

any comments on this wud be appreciated.........

Dear Dude,

For ICs channel is he important thing

In a square we get two sides which have equal lenghts

As a cmos design we need a pMOS and nMOS

Which are off two lenghts of same size.

So Silicon are cut as square.
