MOSFET selection

Hi Experts,

I am working on the selection of MOSFET (N channel) for our new project. Could you please advise on the procedure for selecting the right MOSFET. Any application notes detailing the same will be very much helpful.

Thanks a lot in advance.

MOSFET selection

Basically.

Off state voltage withstand

Max continuous current capability

Total gate charge (-to see if your gate driver can bring it on quick enough)

Turn on voltage (will your gate drive rbe able to switch it on)

On state resistance (Rds ON)

Hi

this PDF may help you.

Re: MOSFET selection

Hi
Consider the following factors,
Threshold voltage or Voltage required at the gate to switch on the device
Rds
Continuous drain to source current
Pulsating drain to source current
Maximum Vds voltage
maximum Vgs voltage

Re: MOSFET selection

Hello
I need to switch a load of maximum 500mA at 60 volts using the I/O of A PIC MCU.
I need to avoid voltage drop as much as possible so no BJT. Plans to use logic level msfet. Could you suggest a suitable one?

Thanks

Re: MOSFET selection

Hi

Take a look at Fairchild Semi and Vishay.

It is really easy to select the FET, based on its parameters like Vds, Rds_on, gate charge, dain current, N or P channel and so on.
