What makes RF chips different from ordinary analog ones is the bandwidth and in/out impedances. This means that overall feedback is not used and that performance at DC is sacrificed for other parameters.

one of the main problems on rf chips is the power comsumption, the idea is to have portable devices, other is noise, as is known, noise is proportional to bandwith, and on rf ic's we need high bandwith, making noise a big problem.

The basic phenomenon behind it, is the solid-state physics. But more important than this, is the circuital modeling of all of these phenomenon, and equations and mathematical systems development.

May I take RF chips as chips working at RF frequency range.In that case the actual complexity is managing the data and operation at high frequencies compared to the ordinary applications.
