Can anyone please tell me what is the transmission layer means. Is it the same as physical layer or there is more to it?

Thanks

as you know the OSI Model consists of:
7 Application layer
6 Presentation layer
5 Session layer
4 Transport layer
3 Network layer
2 Data link layer
LLC sublayer
MAC sublayer
1 Physical layer

maybe the "transmission layer" is another name for "transport layer"

regards
