Both are amplifiers. Error amp has this name because it amplifies so called error signal. It is usually voltage difference between output signal of a regulating loop with negative feedback and reference voltage. This voltage difference is called error.
Of course, there are aslo current loops with negative feedback.
Errors could be amplified, integrated or diferentiated in order to get wanted response of your controller (regulator).
Error amplifier is nothing but a Differnce Amplifier (or Differential Amplifier). All it does is amplify the difference between 2 signals(this could be anything.. for example DC motor position control signals), whereas as normal amplifier would just amplify a single signal by some gain factor.
usually for comparing between signal used for feedback control loop, it's comparing with some reference signal and as amplifier the error signal can be amplified

Well, not too much different from what everyone said previously.
Error Amplifier: An Amplifier that has in one ot its input pins a REFERENCE VOLTAGE, to compare with other voltage signals added in the other input of the amplifier. So the difference between the new voltage and the REFERENCE is amplified. It's used a lot in Instrumentation, where you have to measure inputs into a system so it could maintain stability in its output. Of course, this can be done because the amplifier is connected in a Negative Feedback way (the way to achieve stability).
Common Amplifier: An Amplifier that can have a reference voltage as the previously in one of its inputs, or this same input pin connected just to GROUND. And the signal you want to amplify simply connect it into the other input pin of the amplifier. In this case, the amplification factor can be a value determined from the amplifier itself or by the way you connect some resistors, capacitors, etc, between the output and the input pin (feedback connection).

the differential mode amplifier has a very high Gain with respect to common mode Amplifier as well as SNR achieved from differential mode than common mode.
