Hai... im designing a microstrip patch antenna in cst....
im confused what frequency to choose (2.4Ghz, 5.8Ghz or 6.1Ghz)
I have calculate the patch size (W and L) for these frequencies...the size is getting smaller.
The aim of this project is to design a compact antenna for hand-held devices such as (mobile phone, GPS, laptops, etc).
I need to know which frequency is suitable for my project.
can anyone help me.

waiting

TQ....

There are a lot of things to consider, but I will quickly suggest that
you design for 2.4GHz.

Mainly because with that antenna you could use it for the other frequencies
as well.

If size is your only concern design for 6GHz that freq will require the smallest
dimensions.

ok... if let say i design for 2.4Ghz..
is there any limitation in usage in this freq..(i.e, can only be used for certain applications)

My idea is to develop a compact antenna which can be used for many applications, such as mobile phone, cordless phone,GPS, laptops n etc.

With regard to ur reply that 2.4 GHz can also be used for other frequencies is not very clear bcos the freq. is to take resonance at only 2.4 GHz n therefore there can be a limitation.
Waiting for ur kind reply.
TQ
