What does Matlab.exe process do?

matlab.exe process

You can control the process by typing in services.msc in the run menu. After installing matlab you will see Matlab server process also starting up automatically. In some machines this might prove to be a system hog and It is advices to terminate this process.
You can do so by checking the startup in RUN-> msconfig > startup AND services tab> in startup > untick the automatic start up.......In services configure the Matlab server services to Manual or Disabled..both are ok

Thanks, I found already the way to disable this process on an other site.
