What does a PCM interface mean?

hi.......
does anyone know what's a PCM interface mens???

is it a spi?? is it I2C???
is it some kind of a new interface?? how can i interact with it elactricly tallking,
is the eZ80 how has spi i2c and uart is capabilae of driving this PCM interface thing???

any one help plz??

PCM interface

In my opinion, PCM is pulse code modulation. It is refering to serial kind of data.
 

PCM interface

It should be PCM standard (Pulse Code Modulation). Maybe other acronyms belong to the authour. I should give it with whole paragraph.
