What do open drain drivers mean?

what does this term mean please explain in detail and with examples

Gate, source and drain are terminals of field effect transistor (FET). Open drain driver would indicate output of IC that can only sink or source current, but not both. It is most commonly N type of FET that sinks current from output to ground, as it is shown in example from IanP. I already answered you one question that was very basic electronics question and I see that you are trying to learn microcontrollers, at least looks that way. You should probably find some begineers books for electronics and get some basic idea of components and circuits in electronics, otherwise you will be struggling with most basic terminology and concepts.
