Please elaborate the detailed topics.
Any resources, tips etc would be great.Also i have a target of a week only , I am ready to stay longer and start early

Arduino is same as you program any microcontroller, plus point of arduino platform is, there are built in libraries for complex tasks and user don't need to bother much. you must know basics of C or C++. here are great tutorials made by JeremyBlum.

it would be easier to help you if you mention what you are going to do, arduino have vast library to play alot with controllers
