Hello,

I found this small (3,0 x 2,5 x 1,0 mm) component on a PCB. It looks interesting, since I have a feeling, there is a bare wafer on it. It has 8 pins and I can read the text on the wafer: "KAD SX". Please have a short look at the pictures. Do you have any idea what this component could be?

Maybe some optical sensor?

What can you say about PCB and purpose of that PCB ?

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks Peter,

yes, this PCB comes from a portable gas concentration measuring device. This component is located below the LCD (old-type, monochrome display). The LCD can not lit, but maybe this piece controls if the backlight is turned on e.g. in alarming mode...

Any other ideas?

Hello,

please find the photo of the whole PCB attached (click on it to see the full resolution). The component is marked with an arrow.
