ir drop

Hi,

I want your advice regarding the available tools in the EDA market, that could be used in analysis and simulation of IR Drop in different analog and digital IC's.

I know that IR Drop could be simulated by RC extraction from the layout then running transient simulation over the extracted netlist, and probe voltage on power nets connected to particular blocks in the circuit. But I believe that there's some tools that perform stuff like that.

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Ahmad

virtuoso vavo

take a look on magma, they have the tool for IR drop.

Hi,

U can Chk Hsimplus. It has IR drop analysis(Hsim RA)

thanx

Hi,

I think in cadence VAVO is there (virtuoso Analog Voltage Storm Option)
But i am not familiar with that.

Regards,
Analayout.

yes, VAVO from Cadence can measure IR drop for a layout...

HSIM RA & VAVO are for analog designs only.

For digital design following tools are available.

PrimeRail from Synopsys.
VoltageStorm from cadence.
