I'm not sure if its in the right forum, but I'm looking for FSK modem ICs. I know TCM3105 has not been produced anymore, and i've already searched for alternatives like 73M223 and FX614. I am currently using a pair of XR2206 and XR2211, but since its timing is controlled by resistors and capacitors, the frequencies may be drifted. so i am looking for suggestions here about the suitable ic for fsk modulation and/or demodulation. thanx in advance.

PS: please move it to the right forum if its not.

fsk modem + ics

Hi,
For most of the common applications, the XR devices are quite good. For frequency stability you can use Metal Film Resistors and Metalised polyester or polystyrene capacitors.Use multi turn wirewound trimmer of a smaller value compared to the value of the fixed resistors in the tuning circuit for better stability.

modem fx614

XR2211 and XR2206 is very good for this

fsk +modem ic

Hi

There are some Dsp micro controller like the DSP56F8xx, PIC24xx, TMS320F24xx or 28xx who are capable of encoding & decoding FSK signal digitaly

Whether you have some programming capability you can use this type of DSC for modem function.

Also MSP430Fxxx & MAXQ3xxx (ordinary micro) have modem application note for V21 and V23 modem

this might save you some hardware cost in designing your next modem.

All the best
