Using Peudo-Static RAMs in place of LP SRAMS

I'm updating a design which uses LP SRAMs from Cypress/Renesas. These parts are expensive and probably won't be manufactured for much longer.

They are great in that they can be battery backed very easily.


I now want to replace these if possible with Pseudo Static RAMS. (CellularRAM) (A fraction of the cost.)

Has anyone done this in a battery backed situation ?
Did you backup Vcore and Vio or just Vcore ?
Was it reliable ?
