cygwin ide

Hello all,
I have just now started to use CYGWIN + Eclipse IDE to compile and work with Open Source packages.

Like as we do in VC++ I added the source and header files alone to the created project space and compiled it. But it did not work out. The reason might have been like the config setting needed for compilation may be present in the Makefile. .config files etc etc. Is there a way in Eclipse IDE to feed in these information.

Thank You
