Re: IBM and INTEL..

As far I know, IBM is the Leader in Technology.

Intel is Leader in PC world & not in mobile application, Transportstion & Networking chips.

All famous companies like Freescale, Samsung & etc are tied up with IBM for its technology sharing.

Re: IBM and INTEL..

IBM is simply the best as far as new technology is concerned....

The Cell Processor on the PS3 is awesome.

Intel recently launched its Quad Core processors. But Cell already has 9 nine cores which can run at 4 GHz max.........

Also Cell is based on Power architecture........

So funnynypd

IBM powerpc family is NOT close to the end of its life.

both of them doin tecnology advancement

IBM and INTEL..

Yes, and both of them focus on the hardware of computer!

Re: IBM and INTEL..

firstly u should specify the architecture that whether it processer architecture or something else ,there are so much of the architectures that bwe have to specific to that domain or area

IBM and INTEL..

IBM mainly develops RISC Architecture while INTEL CISC Architecture

each have their own advantages and disadvantages

risc have high clock speed as their design are simple

Cisc have complex instructions which does multimedia operations hence their clock speed are low

ibm mainly targets its processors for high end computations and connectivity like supercomputers

intel targets normal computer requirements

you missed another upcoming giant AMD their architecture is kind of hybrid ;).
