Suggest me some projects related to telecommunication

i want to ask that is it possible to make the tdma ,cdma or pcm circuits at home with microcontrollers
actually i am interested in making a project related to telecommunications
so is it possible to do that or will i have to use manufactured cards meant for this purpose plz give me suggestions and projects related to telecom that i can give a physical working shape at the moment i have no idea what to make
