Hello all,

I want to shift the voltage range from an IR detector (5V to 7V) to a suitable range (-1V to 1V) so that I can use it with the LM2907.

Can anyone help me to achieve this using opamps?

No need for opamps. Just use a coupling capacitor between the IR detector and the LM2907's tacho input, with a resistor from the LM2907's tacho input to ground.

At low rpm, the capacitor value needs to be several uF. It will depend on how much input impedance is seen through your detection device.
