Our client, a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, is looking for a senior technical writer.
- 100% remote role
-Immediate start
-Initial contract runs to year end- with a view to longer term work
Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.
As a Technical Writer for analytics and measurement, you'll create content targeted to other marketers and software developers that work with Google's advertising products.
Responsibilities
- Maintain technical documentation for external audiences.
- Triage incoming requests and drive documentation solutions to completion.
- Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample code.
- Write and edit support content according to branding and style guidelines.
- Manage the flow of content through distinct editorial stages.
- Participate in editorial reviews and quality control of content.
- Use content-management systems to produce content.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing.
- Ability to read and understand source code written in JavaScript, Java, or Python.
- Experience working in collaboration with software engineers, product managers, and customer support.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in writing / editing digital content of medium length (400-700 words).
- Experience with HTML and CSS.
- Experience with Markdown.
- Experience with GitHub and version control systems.
- Experience working with Google's advertising and measurement products (Google Ads, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Experience with mobile app development (Android or iOS).
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to ask questions to sort through ambiguous requirements to drive a project to completion.
